Teacher Appreciation

Two generous parent volunteers are organizing special treats for our teachers everyday during the week of May 5-9. Let's all come together as a caring school community to contribute to their efforts! Here are the details:

Schedule of events

Throughout the Week: Leave a Padlet message!

Leave an electronic note of appreciation! We’re using a platform called Padlet that is free to use! Click the link, then click on the + button and add a post to the bulletin board. You can include a note, picture, video, etc. Click publish for your post to apply to the board.

Sunday, May 4: Chalk the Walk

Let’s chalk the walk with notes and pictures to show our amazing teachers and staff members how much we appreciate them! Join us on Sunday, May 4th, 1:00-4:00pm in and around the school’s main entrance. Some chalk will be available, but please bring your own if you have some.

Monday, May 5: Taco/Nacho Bar!

It’s a Dragons Love Tacos themed taco/nacho bar for our staff! Click on the SignUp Genius to sign up for an item to bring. Bring items by Monday, May 5th no later than 10:45am.

*The food should be prepared and ready to serve, i.e., in a crock pot or disposable tray, washed lettuce etc.

Tuesday, May 6: Cookie Bar!

It’s a “If You Give a Mouse (Teacher) a Cookie”-themed cookie bar! Use the SignUp Genius link to sign up to bring cookies for our staff! Cookies can be homemade or store-bought must be brought to the school on Tuesday, May 6th no later than 10:45am. Please include an ingredient list to help those with dietary restrictions.
 

Wednesday, May 7: Trail Mix Bar!

It’s a “Where the Wild Things Are”-themed trail mix bar! We’re asking parents to contribute items like popcorn, mixed nuts, dried fruit, and M&Ms for our teachers! Please use the Amazon Wish List to contribute. The delivery address has been set to a parent volunteer. Please make sure your order arrives Tuesday, May 6 or earlier.

Thursday, May 8: [office staff]

The Walnut Hills Elementary office staff will be preparing treats for our teachers on Thursday!

Friday, May 10: Favorites Friday!

It’s Favorites Friday! Families can use the Teachers Favorites List for inspiration and bring gifts or handmade creations to show our teachers how much we appreciate them! Send items with your students, hand-deliver to your child’s classroom, or drop off a gift at dismissal. 

Teacher Appreciation festivities are not sponsored by the PTCO. We are lending some website space for easy communication with our school community.
