Per the WHPTCO bylaws,
a. The purpose of the Walnut Hills Elementary School PTCO shall be to assist in attaining the highest level of education and welfare for the entire student body of Walnut Hills Elementary School through the cooperative efforts of the Faculty and Staff, the Cherry Creek District community and the parents.
b. This PTCO is a subordinate organization of, and is organized under authority granted by the Cherry Creek School District Parent Teacher Community Council, Inc., otherwise known as CCSD Parents’ Council.
c. This PTCO is organized solely for charitable, scientific, literary, or educational purposes as defined in Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. This organization is not a private foundation.
You'll see that a majority of the budget is spent subsidizing the cost of our fabulous teacher aides and student enrichment (such as classroom supplies, classroom grants, and field trips).
As much as possible, PTCO funds should be spent in the year they were raised.
While we plan to spend this year's funds similarly, we do have our ears open to make any adjustments based on the needs of our school.

Come to the next PTCO meeting. Meetings take place the second Tuesday of every month at school, 6:00-7:30pm. See the calendar for more info.

There are multiple ways for parents/guardians to get involved! Find a way to get involved that works for you.
Join PTCO Board as a member
Attend PTCO monthly meetings depending on your schedules
Join a specific Events Committee: Invite 2-3 parent committee members (Fun Run, Winter Game Night, etc.
Volunteer at an Event (Book Fair, Winter Game Night, etc.)
Attend an Event
Participate in fundraisers through volunteering time/skillsets, financial contributions, etc.
Spread the word: Share info with your parent/guardian networks via social media (repost, shares, etc.), in-person at pick-up/drop-off, etc.

If you are a fellow WHE parent who owns a small business and/or has a special skillset (tech, finance, art, photography, baking, etc.) that you would like to share with the school, we want to know!
